Captain Boyle pleased with Dons progress

Doncaster captain Ryan Boyle has been left pleased with the progress his side has made in recent weeks after their 23-14 win over Whitehaven extended their unbeaten run to six games.

Boyle joined Richard Horne’s roster from Betfred Championship side Halifax at the end of the 2017 season and has been a key part of the Dons defence putting in a fine display against fellow play off hopefulls Whitehaven.

“It was a tough game and it got to a stage where it could have got either way, we were great defensively and found a way to win,” said Boyle.

“We’re going well at the moment and finding different ways to win games, we need to keep doing the business and getting the job done.”

The next game for Doncaster is a home clash against the Newcastle Thunder who last season were the Dons ‘bogey’ side when it came to results.

“It was one of the best trips I’ve had during my career as everything was perfect with the stay, we had a good walk before the game which settled us.” added Boyle.

“There are some bodies in the group and a weekend off will give us a good opportunity to freshen up ahead of the Newcastle game.”
