Bradford Bulls coach John Kear has praised the York City Knights after they won the League One title at the weekend.
The Knights were crowned Betfred League One champions at the weekend following a 32-14 win over Whitehaven.
Oldham are the side that the Bulls now face in the play off’s but they have to travel to the feared Odsal Stadium.
“I’d like to congratulate York,” Kear told the Telegraph and Argus.
“If you’d said to me at the beginning of the season that you’re only going to lose three games, your points difference is going to be what it is, I thought we’d be walking away with the title.
“It just shows what a stellar season that York have had. They should be congratulated on that.
“It’s a club that is progressing and going forward. James Ford and his players need congratulating.”
Young Bulls star Matty Storton was Kear’s stand out player from his sides 52-7 win over the Hemel Stags and is looking forward to seeing him develop in the future.
“I thought we played some good rugby and defended well for the majority of the time. It was a decent performance,” added Kear.
“There were some good individuals out there. Anyone who has seen how Matty Storton is developing, he is really exciting.
